Photo by Karon.Happy Halloween, Washington. I have to admit that our roundup of locally relevant Halloween costume ideas was missing one incredibly terrifying option: dressing up as the Redskins offense. After all, I defy you to find a scarier performance from the weekend, a woeful outing which actually had one columnist invoking the spectre of Jim Zorn. Just some all-around terrifying stuff.
Congress on Sulaimon: An investigation by the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform has concluded that while Sulaimon Brown probably took money from the Vince Gray campaign, it’s not clear that he was offered a job in exchange for his attacks on former mayor Adrian Fenty. Nikita Stewart has more on the results of the congressional investigation, which did not invoke subpoena power, instead mainly looking into money orders connected to former Gray campaign consultant Howard L. Brooks. The committee concluded that “overall the evidence is insufficient to support Brown’s allegations” that he was promised a job by the Gray campaign; the committee also stated that Brown had a “poor grasp of the facts,” but stopped short of concluding that his claims were false.
Metrobus Complaints Up: On the whole, fewer people are complaining about Metro this year. But not bus riders, who, the Examiner notes, are actually griping in record numbers. While complaints from riders of Metrorail and MetroAccess are both down around 18 percent, the 1,368 complaints per month Metro is getting about their buses represents a five percent uptick over 2010. We’re not surprised — back in July, it was revealed that only three of every four Metrobuses showed up on time, despite reduced standards allowing them a nine-minute window to meet their schedule.
Prince Segregated’s County: The District might be getting bigger, younger and hipper, but Prince George’s County is becoming even more segregated. According to recent Census figures analyzed by the Post, the county “stands virtually alone as a place that is gaining population yet has an increasing number of residents living in neighborhoods that are overwhelmingly one race — in this case, African American.”
A Brief Programming Note: You may have noticed that there was no “Week Around the Ists” posted this morning — that’s a byproduct of the fact that we’re now sharing stories of national interest around the network in real time. Now you don’t have to wait a week to get your important Conan O’Brien hat news!

This Day in DCist: Last year, we looked back at the Blanche K. Bruce House and figured out what a potimarron was; in 2009, the Church of Scientology dressed up 16th Street as a blocked road.
