>> Childish Gambino is better known as actor/comedian Donald Glover. He’s been putting a fair amount of time on his rap persona, to the point he’ll have a record, Camp, coming out by mid-month. In the meantime, he’ll be performing at The Fillmore. $25. 7 p.m.

Wednesday:
>> Singer/songwriter Anthony David is an independent R&B stalwart who’s no stranger to performing in the area. The Atlanta-based artist performs at the Birchmere. $25. 7:30 p.m.

>> New York-based rhymer Immortal Technique is one of the more action-oriented artists on the hip-hop scene, having built his career on boldly stating his opinion and not backing down while promoting himself independently. His “The Martyr” tour will be at the 9:30 Club, where he’ll be joined by Killer Mike, Diabolic, AKIR and DJ G.I. Joe. $20. 10 p.m.

Thursday:
>> A hip-hop super duo if there ever was one, Jay-Z and Kanye West will hit the Verizon Center in support of their joint effort, Watch The Throne, which was released late this past summer. $71.60-$275.65. 7:30 p.m.

Friday:
>> The second season of “Master of the Mix” goes to air Saturday, but you can catch it a day early at the Warehouse (411 New York Avenue NE). Plus, DJs RBI and 2-Tone Jones will be on the decks to provide sonic accompaniment for the night. Free with RSVP (must be 21 or older). 8 p.m.

>> V.V. Brown could easily be lumped into the category of British female singers influenced by the sounds of 1960s U.S. soul music. But she has a bit more edge and tends to veer off that well-worn road more than most. She’s slated to perform at DC9 as a part of Liberation Dance Party’s 7th anniversary. $15. 9 p.m.

>> Celebrating the 10th anniversary of the release of their album, Soon Come, Asheru and Blue Black, better known as Unspoken Heard, are getting together to perform at BloomBars. $10 suggested donation. 9:30 p.m.

Sunday:
>> Skyzoo and The Kid Daytona represent Brooklyn and the Bronx, respectively, but are also representing for a new set of indie hip-hoppers who are on the come-up. They’ll be joined at the U Street Music Hall by DMV-area MCs Uptown XO, Logic, Sm City and Lyriciss. $10 in advance / $15 at the door. 8 p.m.
