>> Police are investigating a stabbing that happened around 11:30 pm Saturday night on the 2900 block of Wisconsin Avenue, near the grounds of the National Cathedral. The victim was taken to the hospital in serious but stable condition. The Washington Post notes that the site is a main transfer point between bus lines.
>> A Greenbelt man who killed 16-year-old Jericka Chambers over tattoo ink was sentenced to life in prison. Rydel Estep, 21, was convicted of first-degree murder. In May 2010, Chambers had tattoo ink that Estep wanted, so he took it from her. When she tried to get it back, he shot her in the head.
>> U.S. Park Police are searching for the driver who struck a 27-year-old Baltimore woman early Saturday morning on the Baltimore Washington Parkway and fled the scene. The woman was taken to the hospital with head and neck injuries. The vehicle is described as a white or silver van with no rear windows on its rear doors. >> Two people were shot and killed late Friday at Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover. Investigators say 30-year-old Chonsay Laquez Green of Capitol Heights and 25-year-old Jeneen Desiree Dunn of Greenbelt were shot in the head by James Edward Coleman of District Heights, who was later killed in an exchange of gunfire with police.
>> The Washington Examiner reports Raymond Avila Ching, 32, a suspected member of a criminal organization that controlled the region’s largest Filipino meth market, has been charged with conspiracy to distribute 500 grams of meth. Court papers “offer an inside peek at the underworld workings in the D.C. area.”
>> A 65-year-old Metro rider was punched and knocked to the ground at the Suitland Metro station Thursday. This isn’t the first time he was attacked at the station.
