After pursuing solo work, she rejoined the group for the album, Get Used to It, in 2006. The Atlanta native’s Rock and Roll Hotel show promises touch on all aspects of her over 20 years worth of music. $20. 9 p.m.
Monday:
>> One of the most powerful female vocalists in R&B, Chaka Khan has been a musical force for almost 40 years now. Backed by a jazz quartet, the “I Feel for You” singer begins her two-day stand at the Birchmere on this night. $75. 7:30 p.m.
>> Having performed at SXSW and had their music featured on shows like “Entourage” to critical acclaim, siblings Kentrell “Krispy” Lindsey and Alvin “Joey” Lindsey are already on a pretty solid path to being known in what’s been described as “alt-rap.” Together as The Knux, these New Orleans-raised, L.A.-based artists meld hip-hop with an indie rock sensibility. They’ll be at DC9 along with Vanity Theft and Jordy Towers. $8. 8 p.m.
