Good morning, Washington. All of us at DCist hope you have an enjoyable day of food, football and relaxation, especially those of you who are enjoying a rare moment of tranquility inside the District of Columbia. Happy Thanksgiving!

As usual, we assume that if you’re visiting us on Thanksgiving, you’re probably looking for a diversion from…whatever. Though we’re also taking the day off, there are plenty of things to do in the Washington area today — DCist events contributor extraordinaire Elisabeth Grant was kind enough to put together some recommendations for those in need of something to do. (But hey, if you’ve already got “epic nap” written in red Sharpie on your calendar today, we totally understand.)

YOGA: Stretch out before today’s marathon eating fest with one of Tranquil Space’s Thanksgiving yoga classes today in Dupont and Arlington. Classes will be held at 9:30, 10, 10:30, 11, and 11:30 a.m. The $15 admission price will be donated to So Others Might Eat.

>> Attend Flow Yoga Center’s (1450 P Street NW) Flow With Gratitude workshop and reflect on how “yoga teaches us to be grateful for the present moment and unveils the primary principle of the universe, sri (abundance).” 10 a.m.-12 p.m. The $25 admission price will be donated to the Anahata Grace charity.

TURKEY BOWL: The traditional Thanksgiving DCIAA Championship Football Game pits Coolidge versus Dunbar at Eastern High School’s field (1700 East Capitol Street NE). 11 a.m. Tickets: $8-10.

FOOD & DRINK: The Black Squirrel (2427 18th Street NW) is again serving up its $5 Thanksgiving Buffet this year, a full spread of turkey, ham, and sides from 7-10 p.m. This generous deal is a thank you to customers. There will also be quite a number of pumpkin beers to purchase as well.

>> Hit BGR (1514 Connecticut Avenue NW) for Thanksgiving on a Bun, a turkey burger topped with cornbread stuffing, cranberries and gravy. Pair it with a Pumpkin Pie milkshake and call it a balanced holiday meal. $10.99.

>> Enjoy a more southern Thanksgiving, complete with cornbread andouille stuffing, sweet potato-pecan casserole, and turkey sandwiches to take home with you, at Art and Soul (415 New Jersey Avenue NW). $55 for adults, $27 for children ages 6-12.

>> 1789 Restaurant (1226 36th Street NW) is offering a three-course Thanksgiving dinner tonight, featuring three squash soup or Bosc pear salad to start, roast turkey as the main course, and a choice of dessert (including pumpkin pie creme brulee with gingerbread ice cream or cranberry pecan tart with cranberry sorbet) to finish. 12-9 p.m. $50 (plus tax and tip).

>> Citronelle (3000 M Street NW) is offering a Thanksgiving Day Buffet, which includes chestnut soup, oysters, roasted turkey, sweet potato gratin, rack of lamb, and lots more (both traditional and less so). To make reservations call (202) 625-2150. 2-7:30 p.m. $85 for adults, $37 for children 12 and younger.

>> Also, be sure to check out the Going Out Guide’s Thanksgiving suggestions for vegetarians.

BARS: If you’re looking for a liquid dinner, or a libation to help digestion, head to Sticky Rice (1224 H Street NE) for $2 PBRs and $5 Jameson shots from 7:30 pm to close. (The kitchen will be closed, though.)

SWING: Head to the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) for a Thanksgiving Day Swing Dance Party with the Daryl Davis Band at 5 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Gottaswing will be providing free dance instruction. Free.

MUSIC: There are even a few live music options going on tonight. Catch King Louie’s Missing Monuments at the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) with Three Lolitas at 8:30 p.m. $10.

>> Or head to the U Street Music Hall (1115 U Street NW) for Moombahton Massive IX featuring Nadastrom, Sabo, and Jen Lasher. 9 p.m. $6.
