Did you enjoy that weekend off from Metro station closures, Washington? Don’t get too cozy. This weekend, WMATA is upping the ante, closing six Red Line stations beginning on Friday night at 10 p.m.

The transit agency’s maintenance work will force the closure of the Brookland, Takoma, Silver Spring, Forest Glen, Wheaton and Glenmont stations through Sunday night. Buses will replace trains, which Red Line riders should be getting used to. In addition, buses will replace train service between the Deanwood and Cheverly stations all weekend too, though both those stations will remain open.

The little things you’ll want to plan for? Fort Totten — which you’ll notice is not in that list of closed stations, despite being smack dab in the middle — will remain open, but for Green and Yellow Line Service only. Metro is suggesting that people who usually drive to a Metro station along the eastern end of the Red Line to take the train into D.C. would probably be better served by driving to a station on the western end and parking there.
