After having been kicked out of their prime Adams Morgan location in late September, the Unity Market vendors have found a new home north of Columbia Heights.
According to Metro Diversity, Unity Market, now known as the International City Fair, has decamped to an empty parking lot on the corner of 14th Street and Otis Place NW, a short walk up from the Columbia Heights Metro station. More on the new market:
The International City Fair (ICF) is located at 3503 14th St. N.W. on what was once a parking lot for Pan Am Market. On this site a dozen vendors sell their wares from early morning until nightfall (7:30 am – 6:30 pm) six days a week (Tuesdays thru Sundays) beginning on November 18th, 2011. Food stands feature typical foods from El Salvador, Mexico, Peru, Argentina and the Caribbean. Artisans offer outerwear garments, specialty items and typical crafts. Once established, ICF will expand to include a greater variety of offerings. The objective is to provide healthy, economical food choices with fresh ingredients for a variety of tastes and an attractive, open air street fair for visitors and residents in the heart of the District.
