A big thank you is due to everyone that voted in the two polls last week. Over 2,200 votes were cast in the t-shirt slogan/graphic poll and nearly 1,200 in the charity poll. At the end of the day on Friday, the top five t-shirt slogans were:
1. You must be new here (477 votes)
2. You don’t bring a gun to a snowball fight (460)
3. I survived the Snowpocalypse (228)
4. The blog t-shirts are so much better in New York (222)
5. I’m a myopic little twit (176)
Congratulations to Bread for the City on an impressive win in the charity contest (helped in no small part by their impressive use of social media to garner support. They finished with a tally of 483, beating DC Central Kitchen by over 200 votes.
So without further ado, we are delighted to launch the Official DCist Merchandise Shop! The current selection features a couple of different styles of men’s and women’s t-shirts, and some basic hoodies, all of which come with just the logo, or with the logo plus one of the five winning slogans. There are also kids t-shirts sporting just the logo. Each style comes in a range of colors specific to that particular product. (If we decide to add more products, we’ll be sure to let you know.) Helpful hint: use the “Categories” drop down menu to quickly narrow down your choices by slogan, for example.
