Cross-generational rappers and mutual weed enthusiasts Wiz Khalifa and Snoop Dogg have teamed up for a forthcoming movie, Mac & Devin Go to High School, which looks to be a straight-to-DVD release due sometime in 2012. The soundtrack album, however, is set to drop next week, and the duo have embarked on “The High School Tour” which comes to the 9:30 Club on Wednesday night. Tickets apparently sold out “instantaneously.” 11 p.m.

THURSDAY
After a well-publicized fallout with his brother, Noel, singer Liam Gallagher formed a new band, Beady Eye, with the rest of Oasis’ final touring lineup. The quartet makes its D.C. live debut at the 9:30 Club on Thursday night, playing songs from their debut album, Different Gear, Still Speeding. While a familiar-sounding Britpop aesthetic will be on offer, fans hoping to hear Oasis tracks will apparently have to wait until Beady Eye’s next tour. Belgium’s Black Box Revelation add an opening set. $40. 7 p.m.

British-born actress and chanteuse Jane Birkin will likely always be best known as the muse of French pop provocateur Serge Gainsbourg. Twenty years after the death of her longtime companion, Birkin comes to the 9:30 Club to celebrate Gainsbourg’s music, performing songs like “Melody” (from their classic 1971 album, Histoire de Melody Nelson) and “Amours des feintes” (one of the last compositions Gainsbourg wrote for Birkin). $35. 6 p.m.
