Leslie Johnson, wife of former Prince George’s County Executive Jack Johnson, was sentenced to 12 months and one day in prison for her role in the corruption scandal that derailed both their careers in public service. Her sentence, which was handed down today, comes four days after her husband was sent to prison for seven years.

Whether she likes it or not, Leslie Johnson will always be remembered for stuffing $79,000 into her underwear and flushing a $100,000 check down the toilet as police raided the couple’s home.
