FRIDAY

COMEDY: Actor Tom Arnold performs stand-up at the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse (2903 Columbia Pike Arlington VA) tonight and tomorrow. Sets at 7:30 p.m. and 9:55 p.m. $25.

CHARITY: Like wigs? Like good causes? The two will mix tonight at the Seventh Annual Wig Walk, a pub crawl in Adams Morgan. (We interviewed the founders two years ago.) For $20 you get a wristband and cheap drinks; proceeds go towards buying toys for kids at the Children’s National Medical Center Foundation. It starts at 6 p.m. at Toledo Lounge, moves on to Madam’s Organ at 8 and closes out the night at Chief Ike’s Mambo Room at 10.

DANCE: Dakshina/Daniel Singh Dance Company comes to Artisphere (1101 Wilson Boulevard Arlington VA) for a Bhangra Dance Party tonight and tomorrow at 8 p.m. for $25 and Sunday at 3 p.m. for $15.

>> Local dancers take to the Dance Place (3225 8th Street NE) stage this weekend for the Eureka Dance Festival. Shows take place tonight and tomorrow at 8 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m. $22 general admission, $17 seniors/teachers/artists, $15 college students, and $8 children (17 and under).

MOVIE: This is the last weekend of the Capital Irish Film Festival. Tonight at the Goethe Institut (812 7th Street NW) see the documentary Promise and Unrest at 6:15 p.m. and the drama As If I Am Not There at 8:15 p.m. Tickets: $11 each film.

BOOK: Chef José Andrés signs copies of his cookbooks at the Bethesda Jaleo (7271 Woodmont Avenue Bethesda MD) Holiday Book Signing tonight. There will be tapas and drink specials during the event. 5-7:30 p.m.

SATURDAY

SHOP: Twenty vendors from Crafty Bastards will be selling their unique wares at GRUMP, which stands for Give Rad Urban Made Presents, at the American Legion (224 D Street SE) this Saturday. There will also be a DJ, bar, fortune telling, carnival games, and cupcakes. 11 a.m.-5 p.m.

>> Hit the Upshur Street Handmade Art & Craft Fair (821 Upshur Street NW) Saturday for local artists selling crafts and art. The event will also feature live music, food and drink, and more. 11 a.m.-4 p.m.

>> Pick up jewelry, photos, paintings, sculptures and more at the Holiday Craft Fair at the Latin American Youth Center’s Art + Media House (3035 15th Street NW) Saturday. 10 a.m.-4 p.m.

ART TALK: Bob Boilen, from NPR’s “All Songs Considered” show, sits down with Robert Goldstein and Robin Rose for an Art Talk at Hemphill Fine Arts (1515 14th Street NW) Saturday to discuss the intersection of music and art. 10 a.m. Free.

HOLIDAY FUN: Georgetown’s 12 Days of Merriment launches this weekend with a Kick-off Party on Saturday from 1-4 p.m. in the PNC Bank Lot (Wisconsin and M Street). Come out for a fruitcake eating contest at 1:25 p.m., a holiday “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” competition at 2:15 p.m., holiday karaoke with a live band from 2:30-3:45 p.m. Email events@georgetowndc.com to participate in the fruitcake and “Don’t Forget the Lyrics” contests, and just show up for the rest of the fun. SPORTS: DC Rollergirls’ season six rolls on at the DC Armory (2001 E. Capitol Street SE) this Saturday as the Cherry Blossom Bombshells look to make it two in a row as they take on the winless DC DemonCats. That’s followed by the 1-1 Majority Whips vs. the 2-0 reigning champs Scare Force One. Doors open at 3pm with the first bout at 4pm and bout two at 5:45pm. $12 general admission, $6 kids ages 6-11.

DANCE: The Imperfect Dancers Company of Italy bring “elegant physicality and daring virtuosity” to the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street NW) Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. The performance contains partial nudity. $18 general admission, $12 students and seniors.

>>The Saffron Dance belly dancers present “Spice of Life: Dance is the Journey,” featuring over 100 dancers doing Egyptian and Tribal style belly dance, at the Davis Performing Arts Center at Georgetown University (37th and O Streets NW) this Saturday. Shows are 5-7 p.m. and 8-10 p.m. $30.

NERDS: Three speakers give talks on the veterinary profession, lemur poop, and pseudoscience at a very special two year anniversary Nerd Nite at DC9 (1940 Ninth Street NW) Saturday. 7-10 p.m. Tickets: $10.

BAR CRAWL: Put on your Santa hats, elf shoes, reindeer antlers, and other Christmas-themed costumes and hit the streets of Georgetown this Saturday for the 13th annual Santa Stumble. First up on the crawl will be Third Edition (1218 Wisconsin Avenue NW) from 4-8 p.m., followed by Rhino Bar (3295 M Street NW) from 7:30 to 11 p.m., and concluding at The Guards (2915 M Street NW) from 10:30 p.m. til closing. Not only will this be an evening of revelry, it is also a fundraising event, so bring donations for The Naval Marine Corps Relief Society. 4 p.m.-2 a.m.

MUSIC: Cheap Trick plays The Fillmore (8656 Colesville Road Silver Spring MD ) Saturday with Midnight Hike. 8 p.m. $45.

BOXING: Super Lightweights Amir Khan and Lamont Peterson fight for the Unified World Championships title at the Washington Convention Center (801 Mt Vernon Place NW) this Saturday. 6 p.m. Tickets: $25-$300.

SUNDAY

PETS: Get your pup, kitty, chinchilla, parakeet, or other pet’s picture taken with Santa at Hotel Monaco’s (700 F Street NW) Santa Paws event this Sunday. Photos are free if you use your own camera, or $20 if you buy a framed professional photos (proceeds go to the Washington Humane Society). There will also be complimentary holiday treats for both pets and humans. 2-4 p.m.

SHOP: Pick up band t-shirts and other cool gifts at the Black Cat’s (1811 14th Street NW) Rock-n-Shop event this Sunday. 8 p.m. Free admission.

MOVIES: The Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse (2903 Columbia Pike Arlington VA) hosts an all-day Christmas Movie Festival this Sunday. The line-up includes How The Grinch Stole Christmas (12 p.m.), A Charlie Brown Christmas (12:30 p.m.), Elf (1 p.m.), How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2:30 p.m.), A Christmas Story (3 p.m.), A Charlie Brown Christmas (4:30 p.m.), Scrooged (5:15 p.m.), and National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation (7:20 p.m.). You can stay the whole time, from 11:45 a.m. to 9 p.m., or leave and return as you like, without having to pay again. $8 for all the films.

BEER: Bourbon in Adams Morgan (2321 18th Street NW) is serving up an impressive list of beers aged in bourbon barrels this Sunday. On draft pick from Great Lakes Blackout Stout in a Buffalo Trace Bourbon Barrel, Lagunitas Cappuccino Stout in a Bourbon Barrel, Allagash Curieux in a Bookers Bourbon Barrel, or 3 Stars/Olivers Rye Pale Ale blended with a Rye Porter aged in Hudson Rye Whiskey Barrels. They will also have bottles of Founders Backwoods Bastard and Mikkeller Blackhole. 6 p.m.
