We love a good cause as much as anyone (in case you haven’t been to our T-shirt shop) and the local do-gooders in Positive Force are always on the cusp of announcing another benefit show. In fact they’ve just announced two for the same weekend.
On Friday, Jan. 20, the altruistic outfit is putting their all-ages-all-the-time policy to work onstage with a youth punk show to benefit the All Ages Movement Project. The lineup for that show is Foozle, Guilty, Coxey Brown, Dactyl, Belegost (members of In Tolerance) and the stars (arguably) of 2010’s Fort Reno season, The Black Sparks. If you think I’m kidding, check here.
The following night Volta Bureau, Ra Ra Rasputin and Miyazaki (no, not the anime director) will be playing at St. Stephens’ to benefit the Collective Action for Safe Spaces. If those names don’t ring a bell (although Ra Ra Rasputin probably should at this point), the names Will Eastman, Outputmessage and Micah Vellian might. That’s the brain trust behind Volta Bureau. We’re already impressed. Check the Positive Force website for continued information.
