Scott Weiland, of Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver fame, stumbles through a Winter Wonderland

MONDAY

The best type of gift is the one that you didn’t even know you wanted. Take Scott Weiland’s foray into holiday standards, The Most Wonderful Time of the Year. Like those half-baked tchotchkes at the front of Urban Outfitters, no one in their right mind would ask for such an unnecessary trifle but, once received, it is worth its weight in ironic amusement. Tonight’s show at the 9:30 Club is seated for that extra touch of class. 7 p.m., Tickets $40 to 50.

The Birchmere: Chris Issak‘s Holiday Show. 7:30 p.m., Sold Out.

Galaxy Hut: The Torches, Echo Bloom. 9 p.m., $5.

TUESDAY

One of the few touring acts coming to town so late in the month, Atlas Sound is at The Black Cat supporting its critically lauded new album Parallax along with Carnivores and Frank Broyles. 8 p.m., $15.

Iota: Holidays on the Rocks with Addieville, Meredith Bragg , Astra Via (Jarrett Nicolay and Olivia Mancini), The Boxelders, and Charlie Harrison . 8 p.m., $10.

WEDNESDAY

Tickets are first come, first served and admission is free for those who bring proof of a completed HIV test which will be given at participating testing centers. SATURDAY
