Tickets go on sale Friday for a show at the Warner Theatre next Feb. 29 by Lauryn Hill, Live Nation Entertainment announced over the weekend.

Any performance by the one-time Fugee is worth noting, especially as the length of time since her lone solo album of original material—yes, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill was released all the way back in 1998—stretches into Chinese Democracy territory.

But more pressing, perhaps, is that the upcoming show would mark Hill’s first area show since her turbulent appearance in August 2010 at Merriweather Post Pavilion for Rock the Bells. Not only did she delay her set by three hours—leaving concertgoers bored, cranky, and baking in the steamy weather—when she finally showed, she wasn’t any good.

And then there’s the prospect of that long-long-long-awaited followup to Miseducation. Rumors of a new album by the 36-year-old singer are practically this decade’s version of the Guns ‘n Roses waiting game.

Tickets for the February show range from $55 for the upper balcony to $150 for “Golden Circle” seating. The Ticketmaster sale begins 10 a.m. Friday, so if you’re champing at the bit to see the reclusive Hill, get ready for buggy websites and those wonderful Ticketmaster service fees.
