SATURDAY

NEW YEAR’S EVE: A few weeks ago we rounded up a bunch of New Years Eve parties and events. If you haven’t yet planned how you’ll ring in 2012, check them out, but please note that some of the events, including the Red Palace bash, have sold out. Or, read on for some more picks.

>> DCBeer has put together a list of New Year’s Eve events for craft beer lovers, including the Pour House (featuring specialty cask ales) and Jack Rose Dining Saloon (offering a four course beer dinner). Tickets for these events were still available at the time of writing this post, but do check the websites to see if that’s changed.

>> Washingtonian’s got you covered for bars with no covers for New Year’s, including Room 11 (3234 11th Street NW) where Dan Searing will be making a big bowl of punch, and Granville Moore’s, which will be offering lots of specials.

>> Since a typical evening at Rogue 24 (922 N Street NW) will set you back $185 (though you do get 24 courses), its $150 New Year’s Eve event, complete with open bar, open kitchen, and tax and gratuity, almost seems like a deal.

>> It’s BYOB, Bring Your Own Bubbly, at Cork Wine Bar’s (720 14th Street NW) New Year’s Bash Saturday. Admission is free when you bring a bottle of champagne, and Cork will provide the snacks. 11 p.m.

MUSIC: The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage (2700 F Street NW) presents A Celtic New Year, featuring Peter Brice on accordian, Zan McLeod on guitar, Rosie Shipley on fiddle, and the New Century Dancers on their toes. 6 p.m. Free.

SUNDAY

FITNESS: After all that champagne toasting on Saturday you may need a fitness detox on Sunday. Past Tense Studio (3253 Mt. Pleasant Street NW) is offering a “Yoga Chaser” at 4 p.m. $15.

>> If your New Year’s resolution is to run more, throw on your sneakers and hit the pavement for the Potomac River Running New Year’s Day 5K at Reston Town Center (111911 Democracy Drive Reston VA). Participants receive free hot chocolate and a long-sleeve technical t-shirt. 10 a.m. $30 in advance, $35 day of.

HAPPY HOUR: The Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) is throwing an all-night Post Amateur-Hour Happy Hour Sunday for those who had to work on New Year’s Eve. 8 p.m. Free.

MUSIC: Wale plays The Fillmore (8656 Colesville Road Silver Spring MD) on Sunday with Black Cobain. 8 p.m. $35.
