There was slight panic on the Internet today that a new wave of harassment aimed squarely at the District’s food trucks would be coming tomorrow. So serious would it be, some wrote, that food trucks could be slapped with $50 fines if they weren’t constantly serving customers.

It’s not true, said Mayor Vince Gray in a tweet this afternoon. He said that neither the D.C. Department of Public Works nor MPD were planning stepped up enforcement, and that long-awaited new rules governing food trucks would be forthcoming on January 20. The Post Mike DeBonis has more details.
