FOOD & DRINK: Celebrate the Chinese New Year with Zentan’s (1155 14th Street NW) four-course prix-fixe menu, including options like pork and shrimp dumplings, 19-ingredient Singapore slaw, and crispy red snapper with chili black bean sauce. This special menu is available today through January 28. The price, $47.10, is based on the Chinese calendar year: 4710, the year of the dragon.

MUSIC: Joshua Bell, the celebrated violinist and sometime Metrorail commuter serenader, performs at the Kennedy center (2700 F Street NW) tonight with Sam Haywood on piano. 8 p.m. $45-$115.

TUESDAY: All four of the Busboys and Poets locations are hosting State of the Union Address watch parties on Tuesday. 7:30 p.m. at Fifth and K streets NW, 8 p.m. at in Shirlington, 8:30 p.m. at 14th and V streets NW, and 8 p.m. in Hyattsville. Free.

WEDNESDAY: Mad Fox Brewery (444 West Broad Street, Suite I, Falls Church) is hosting a five-course Robert Burns beer dinner Wednesday, saluting the Scottish poet with select dishes paired with beers. The first course is of course haggis paired with a cask Scottish ale, followed by Scottish salmon paired with a Saison, fried prosciutto and Stilton salad paired with Orange Whip IPA, grilled leg of lamb paired with “100 Batch,” and finished with a Chocolate Crannachan paired with a Wee Heavy. $65 (includes tax and tip).

THURSDAY: After multiple preliminary rounds the H St Karaoke Championship takes place this Thursday at the Rock and Roll Hotel (1353 H Street NE). Doors 7:30 p.m., show 8:30 p.m. Free.

FRIDAY: Friday-FRIDAY-FRIDAY!: Head to Monster Jam at the Verizon Center (601 F Street NW) for monster trucks, and all their engine revving, giant-wheeled zooming and all-around awesomeness. 7:30 p.m. $20-$60.

SATURDAY: Team up with REI to help re-route a trail at Potomac Overlook Regional Park (2845 N Marcey Road, Arlington). Participants will help in “removal of vegetation along new trail route, trail grading, installation of steps and waterbars, application of wood chips and gravel,” and other work. 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

SUNDAY: Celebrate the year of the dragon at the annual D.C. Chinese New Year Parade. The route begins in Chinatown at 6th and I Street NW. 2 to 5 p.m. Free.
