After Newt Gingrich proposed that the U.S. establish a 13,000-person colony on the moon and grant it statehood earlier this week, Stephen Colbert used a segment on yesterday’s Colbert Report to rub in the fact in a way that only he could: “Suck it, Washington, D.C. Suck it dipped in tang.”

Thankfully, we know deep down that Colbert’s repeated mentions of our lack of voting rights have actually raised more awareness than our traditional complaints.
