It’s not often that you get the following email:
The Washington Highlands Interim Library located at 4037 South Capitol St. is closed today. A deer broke through the Library window shortly after noon today. The Library was not open and no staff were injured.
According to George Williams, the library’s spokesperson, the deer crashed through the front window of the library, which is located in a store as the Washington Highlands location is renovated. We asked if the deer survived, but Williams did not know. Once we hear back, we’ll update.
That National Park Service’s plan to do a better job controlling the deer population suddenly sounds a lot better, huh?
UPDATE, 2:35 p.m.: According to Williams, “The deer sustained a broken jaw, and was euthanized by Animal Control.”
