ARTS: The Arena Stage celebrates their production of Red, about painter Mark Rothko, at the Phillips Collection (1600 21st Street NW) Phillips After 5 event tonight. There will be acting exercises, improv games, live jazz from the Marshall Keys Quartet, a gallery talk on Duncan and Marjorie Phillips, free food, and a cash bar. 5:00-8:30 p.m. Tickets: $12.

MOVIES: Dude Fest, a salute to The Big Lebowski, is back tonight at Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse (2903 Columbia Pike Arlington VA). Dress up as your favorite character and come out for themed music (7:30 p.m.), trivia and best costume awards (8:40 p.m.), and finish off the evening with a screening of the 1998 classic. $12.

TALK: Strathmore (5301 Tuckerman Lane North Bethesda MD) is hosting a series of talks on “Arts and the Brain.” Tonight, hear two doctors discuss “Creativity and the Aging Brain. 7:00-8:30 p.m. $21.

MUSIC: Fans of M83 and Neon Indian may enjoy the “lush, pastoral electronica” of Tycho at the Rock and Roll Hotel (1353 H Street NE) tonight. Beacon opens. 8:30 p.m. $15.
