The Embassy of Ecuador, located in a historic building just off of Meridian Hill Park, recently relocated to an office in Georgetown while work can be done to repair damage that occurred in during the August 2011 earthquake. The move was noted today by Prince of Petworth; the embassy announced the move on its website at the end of January.

The embassy building — which is worth some $5.5 million — sustained damage including the partial collapse of three chimneys on the roof and cracks on internal walls. Work on the building will take one year.
