The Barry machine? (IMF Internationale Medien und Film GmbH & Co.)
Marion Barry’s re-election effort for his Ward 8 seat on the D.C. Council doesn’t have a website, but judging from a string of tweets from the mayor-for-life, we think he’s holding a campaign rally of some kind tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Thurgood Marshall Academy on Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue SE.
Barry began by asking his followers to come to the school tomorrow “2 hear my vision & accomplishments. What’s YOUR vision 4 our GREAT WARD 8?” He followed by mentioning health care, education, after-school programs, retail development and job creation as priorities.
Of his personal legacy, the 75-year-old Barry called said he was a “Fighter for the people. Always has been. Always will be. I joined the movement many years ago. Will you join the movement to HELP people too?”
And then, there was this:
The Barry machine has been activated.

Scary stuff. We think what’s happening tomorrow is a campaign event. Or perhaps Barry was referring to the “gasifier,” a Rube Goldberg contraption he inspected in 2005 that would use garbage or sewage to produce pollution-free electricity and potable water.
Then again, it could be Skynet.
