>> Saul Williams made a name for himself on Brooklyn’s spoken word circuit in the 1990s and has gone on to become a revered artist by melding his poetic influences with hip-hop sensibilities. He’s performing at the Black Cat along with CX Kidtronik in support of his “Volcanic Sunlight” tour. $18. 8 p.m.

>> Carl Craig (pictured) made his name on the Detroit electronic music scene and became an international luminary in the genre through is DJing and production. He’ll be at U Street Music Hall for a set. $10. 10 p.m.

>> It’s the 4th Saturday of the month which means DJs Jahsonic, Stylus and Adrian Loving will be holding shop at Liv for another edition of “Axel F.” Given that two icons of the Axel era have passed in the last month, fully expect the spirits of Don Cornelius and Whitney Houston to be in the building.
