>>Seven firefighters from Prince George’s County were injured while responding to a fire at a single-family home Friday night. As of Saturday morning, two remain in critical condition, both volunteers from Bladensburg.

>>Norovirus, commonly known as food poisoning, is on the loose in area schools. George Washington University reported 85 cases of the illness, which is characterized by stomach cramping, vomiting and diarrhea. Howard University suspects it is the culprit in up to 40 students treated this week.

Willow Springs Elementary in Fairfax has also experienced an outbreak this week.
