Craig FinnTUESDAY
If you’ve spent any time seeing local bands in the past year, you’ve probably seen the minimalist goth-punk duo Lenorable at some point. The Three Stars alumni are celebrating the release their latest EP The Prince with a show at The Black Cat. Dangerosa and Last Tide open. Doors at 8 p.m., $8.
>> College quad mainstays O.A.R. kick off their “extended stay” at the 9:30 Club. If you want a ticket, Craigslist might be your best bet. Doors at 8 p.m. Sold Out.
>> U St. Music Hall: Chiddy Bang. Doors at 10 p.m., $15.
WEDNESDAY
Remember Lauryn Hill’s disaster of a live appearance at Merriweather Post Pavilion back in August 2010? Yeah, we’d not like to relive that either. Here’s hoping she shows up on time and is as great we want to remember her at the Warner Theatre. Doors at 8 p.m. $55-150.
>> Black Cat: Dinosaur Feathers, Grandchildren. Doors at 8 p.m. $10.
>> 9:30 Club: O.A.R. Doors at 8 p.m. Sold Out.
THURSDAY
Fresh off the release of their third full-length album, No One Loves You Like I Do, Kansas City’s The Life and Times bring their skyward looking alternative rock to The Black Cat along with J. Robbins’ latest project Office Of Future Plans and Black Clouds. Doors at 8 p.m. $12.
>> 9:30 Club: O.A.R. Doors at 8 p.m. Sold Out.
FRIDAY
Craig Finn is known for his rambunctious, celebratory mood on stage as the leader of The Hold Steady. But given the dour disposition on his first solo record Clear Heart Full Eyes, I’d expect this show at the Rock And Roll Hotel to be a little more restrained. Doors at 7 p.m. Sold Out.
>> YouTube ukulele cover phenomenon Julia Nunes will be playing originals down the street at Red Palace. Doors at 7 p.m. $12 in advance; $14 at the door. All ages.
>> 9:30 Club: O.A.R. Doors at 8 p.m. Sold Out.
SATURDAY
Fresh off the release his much delayed fourth LP Thug Motivation 103: Hustlerz Ambition, Atlanta hip-hop artist Young Jeezy will take the stage at the Fillmore Silver Spring. Doors at 8 p.m. $30.
SUNDAY
San Francisco’s Young Prisms bring their smoldering, reverb-laden guitar rock from their debut album Friends For Now to DC 9. Boy Friend opens the show. Doors at 8 p.m. $8.
