Forget Fernet Branca taps. That’s already been done in San Francisco. We’re on to small batch bourbon taps. Specifically we’re in to the Willett Orange Blossom Special on tap at Jack Rose starting tonight.

The Orange Blossom Special is a five-year aged bourbon described by Bar Manager Rachel Sergi with a nose of “muddled citrus peel with a faint hint of Cognac,” and a palate of “sweet oatmeal rolling in to a long citrus peel-pepper finish.” Jack Rose owner Bill Thomas and friend Jake Parrott went to the distiller to pull samples, and selected the barrels they wanted. So it was only natural for the Orange Blossom Special to makes its way to a Jack Rose tap.

And if you have friends who wish to make the journey to Jack Rose tonight, the real main event kicks off at 6 p.m. with the Kopstootje or “little butthead butt”, which features genever gin (in this case, Bols) followed by a light lager (in this case, Stillwater’s Kopstootje). Stillwater’s Kopstootje is “a deconstructed Genever brewed with rye, wheat, corn and barley, along juniper berries and 5 other spices.”

Also on tap, are five other Stillwater beers:
>> Cellar Door – Belgian Saison brewed with White Sage
>> Two Gypsies – Our Side – Collaboration between Brian “Stillwater” Strumke and Mikkel “Mikkeller” Borg Bjergsø which combines the best from both Mikkeller Stateside IPA and the Stillwater Stateside Saison
>> Of Love and Regret (get this while you can!) – A bright saison with brewed with heather, dandelions, chamomile and lavender.
>> Premium – A ‘post prohibition’ pilsner recipe with a twist, using brettanomyces to instill a zesty dry funk.
>> Existent – A rich and dark saison with a mild roasty character that is prolonged by an earthy hop finish
