>> Rush Limbaugh apologized to third-year Georgetown law student, Sandra Fluke, for calling her a slut and a prostitute following her testimony at a congressional hearing on insurance and birth control Feb. 24. The New York Times reports that at least six advertisers have pulled their ads from the show since the incident.

>> Despite Metro General Manager Richard Sarles’ ill feelings toward a Clarendon Station ad that tells Barack Obama to “go to hell,” the signage will remain in place until its previously scheduled removal on March 11.

“There are very few limits placed on freedom of speech and, unfortunately, the language used in the ad would not be included under those few exceptions,” said Sarles.

>> The Greater Washington Urban League will honor photographer Ray Wilson on March 14. Wilson captured some of the most compelling images of our country’s black leaders including Dorothy Height, Rosa Parks and Thurgood Marshall.

“I wanted to be involved in the history,” said Wilson, 76. “It wasn’t about the dollars and cents. I was just so enthusiastic about the things that were happening.”
