The Deanwood station on the Orange Line and the Anacostia and L’Enfant Plaza stations on the Green Line suffered the most crime in 2011, according to a Metro report being released this week.

Last year there were 67 criminal incidents at Deanwood, 64 at Anacostia and 63 at L’Enfant Plaza. Suitland, College Park, Largo Town Center, Southern Avenue, Minnesota Avenue, Gallery Place, and Greenbelt rounded out the top 10, all of which were in D.C. or Prince George’s County. The first Virginia station on the list is Franconia-Springfield, which came in 18th with 32 crimes in 2011.

The four Metro stations hit with least crime last year tied with one incident a piece—Federal Center Southwest, Van Dorn Street, National Airport, and Pentagon. Federal Triangle only had two reported crimes, while Courthouse, Crystal City and Pentagon City each had three.

The report stresses that the chances of being a victim remains low. In 2011, there were only 5.61 crimes per million rides. The Examiner reported last week that that rate is still above that of comparable transit system throughout the country, including New York, Boston and Philadelphia.
