DCist Exposed opened at Long View Gallery last Wednesday and Thursday.

We’re rather gobsmacked that the DCist Exposed Photography Show is still going strong after six years. Once again, our opening receptions were smashing successes with well over 1,000 devotees coming out to admire the 40 gorgeous images created by this year’s crop of formidable photographers. This was our third year working with the delightful Drew Porterfield and the ideally suited Long View Gallery.

And then there was the beer. Ohhh the beer. Heaps of gratitude are owed to sponsors DC Brau and Churchkey, whose incomparable brews earned them a ton of new admirers at the opening receptions. DCist’s own John Fleury gets a ginormous shout-out for his tireless efforts in bringing this delicious deal to fruition.

Thanks to our go-to music team of DJs Sequoia and V:shal Kanwar for their slick spinning, and of course kudos galore to the cadre of DCist staff who helped tend bar, as well as set up and break down each reception, along with organizers Heather Goss and James Calder.

Appreciation is also due to BaseCamp for donating their excellent print services, along with the hard-working Josh Cogan. And the show would not have been possible without Ten Miles Square.

If you didn’t make it out last week, Exposed remains open for viewing through April 1 during Long View‘s regular gallery hours (Wednesday though Saturday, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday, 12 to 5 p.m.) Please note that tomorrow’s panel discussion listed on the handout from the openings has been canceled. Photos are still available for purchase at the gallery or via email to heather@dcist.com. Don’t forget the 2012 exhibition catalog/program is also available for online purchase along with the now-classic 5th anniversary magazine, both beautifully designed by the talented Johanna Ostrich.

Until next year, cheers!
