>> One of three Mega Millions jackpot winners hails from Baltimore Country Maryland, state lottery officials report. Two others, from Illinois and Kansas, will share the $640 million.

Americans spent nearly $1.5 billion for a chance to hit the jackpot, which amounts to a $462 million lump sum and around $347 million after federal tax withholding, reported NBC Washington. WJLA asked area residents what they would do it they won.

>> A local couple was attacked outside the Verizon Center Wednesday, after the Van Halen concert. The Capitol Hill pair hailed a cab and as they were climbing in, four men tried to rush past them into the car. This started the fight that would lead to Brian Bradley of Arlington being charged for aggravated assault after he hit the woman, knocking her to the pavement.
