A reunited Black Tambourine will be heading Chickfactor 2012: For the Love of Pop at Artisphere on Saturday night. Tickets, miraculously, are still available. TUESDAY
Athens’ kings and queen of decadent stage setup and vaudevillian costumes, of Montreal, return to the 9:30 Club. We’re not sure whether the stage setup will resemble a Bacchinalian fantasy, a mime show, Sesame Street on acid or something totally different and off the wall but we are sure of two things: 1) we’ll jump as soon as we hear our favorite songs from The Sunlandic Twins and 2) Kevin Barnes will remove his shirt. Loney Dear and Kishi Bashi open. Sold Out, 7:00 p.m.
For a show where you can actually get in, head across the street to DC9 where cheerful New York indie poppers Pomegranates will be headlining a show along with Pity Rally and local act We Were Pirates, who you may remember from this appearance. $10, 8:30 p.m.
DAR Constitution Hall: Moody Blues. $58-$88, 8:00 p.m.
WEDNESDAY
Joan Osborne’s one radio hit in the ‘90s brought her the avid sort of cult following that still allows her to tour regularly fifteen years later with a bluesier sound and hit spots like The Birchmere on those tours. Lera Lynn opens. $35, 7:30 p.m.
Black Cat: Beanstalk Library, Color Bars, Archivists. $10, 8:00 p.m.
THURSDAY
They mix punk with traditional Jewish songs and their explosive live shows have gained them comparisons to Sleater-Kinney. The Shondes, who we managed to miss at SXSW are traveling back to Brooklyn from the festival and stop by the Rock n Roll Hotel with Troll Tax and Fell Types.

FRIDAY
We may have enjoyed SXSW, but the obscene amounts of people, sounds and shameless advertising is enough to induce an overstimulation headache. This weekend, Travis Jackson of Windian Records gives his second annual middle finger to music industry elitism with his F*** SXSW two day show at the Montserrat House. Tonight’s garage rock all star acts include locals like the wonderfully shambolic Suns of Guns and the magnetic Foul Swoops as well as out of towers The Penetrators, The Bizarros and Paint Fumes. $12 in advance, $15 at the door and two night passes $22 in advance/$30 at the door, 8:30 p.m.
