Maurice Sendak’s Where the Wild Things Are is one of the great pleasures of any childhood. And if it’s going to be read aloud—really, is there any other way to enjoy it—it’s best done so as emotively and forcefully as possible.

Well, at today’s White House Easter Egg Roll, President Obama got really into it while reading the classic picture book’s tale of discovery, danger, fear and freedom to a group of kids on the White House lawn. In fact, when Obama describes the Wild Rumpus, Bo is definitely giving him a “WTF, Mr. President?” kind of look.

This isn’t the first time Obama has shown his affection for the Sendak tome. He also read it at the 2009 Easter Egg Roll, pausing to savor the Wild Rumpus scene.
