(AP Photo/Alex Brandon)Since they moved to town, Septembers have been little more than disappointing finales for the Washington Nationals. But this season, at least Nats fans might get their spirits lifted ahead of the last few weeks of the season when Bruce Springsteen returns to town to play the stadium on September 14.
The Boss announced today a bunch of stadium dates tacked on to his current Wrecking Ball Tour, which blew through the Verizon Center on April 1 in a white-hot fury of socioeconomic dissatisfaction and blistering rock anthems.
Tickets go on sale April 27 and will be available at Tickets.com, the Nationals said in a press release. But the crazy anticipation for the return of the Bard of Asbury Park has already started. Just check out the analysis by the Post’s Dan Steinberg:
With fans already calling the Nats’ rotation “K Street” this season, there has to be some sort of K Street/E Street collaboration, yes?
We weren’t aware the Nationals’ pitching staff has been dubbed—rather lamely, we might add—K Street. But yeah, whatever. Springsteen fever gives many over to all kinds of nutty wordplay. Brad Lidge blew a save yesterday. Wasn’t that long ago that he could thow that speedball by you and make you look like a fool, boy.
