CRAFTS: The Smithsonian Craft Show is back at the National Building Museum (401 F Street NW) tonight, featuring wearable art, jewelry, ceramics, and other creations by 144 artists. The show runs tonight through this Sunday. 10:30 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Today’s ticket price is $15 during the day today, $6 after 6 p.m.

FOOD & DRINK: Restaurant 3 (2950 Clarendon Boulevard Arlington VA) in Clarendon is hosting their first Summer Patio Pig Roast of the season. Along with being delicious, this event is also a fundraiser for Southern Foodways Alliance. Begins at 5:00 p.m.

MUSIC: In her South by Southwest 2012 Scouting Report, Valerie Pashcall wrote that Eleanor Friedberger’s “songs have the warm familiarity of a night with an old friend.” See Friedberger perform tonight at the Black Cat (1811 14th Street NW) with Hospitality. 8:00 p.m. $15.

ART: Enjoy live jazz while you create art on canvas at the Take 5! Jazz Session I from ArtJamz and the Smithsonian American Art Museum (750 F Street NW). 5:00-8:00 p.m. $40.

BENEFIT: Rocklands Barbeque and Grilling Company (3471 Washington Boulevard Arlington) teams up with Doorways for Women and Families for the Shed Your Coat Doggy Yappy Hour tonight. Bring your dog, bring a gently used coat to donate, or just bring yourself, and enjoy pork from a whole roast pig and oysters grilled over a wood fire. 5:00-8:00 p.m. Tickets are $20 and include a raffle ticket and all the food.
