Legend has it that many DCist editors, after an exhausting day of reporting, editing and doing all the other things that keep this site alive, have relieved themselves at Dodge City, the reliable U Street NW haunt that ranges from enlightened dive to boisterous dance party.

So it’s quite possible that some of our alumni might pop up tonight as the bar celebrates its second birthday in a most boozy and savory fashion. It’ll be a chilly evening, but specials on DC Brau and sausages from 13th Street Meats cooked on the grill out back should keep us full and warmed up. The Pretzel Bakery, a new emporium of twisted dough at 15th and D streets SE, will be bringing its knotty wares to the celebration.

And even though it’s Monday, Dodge City is partying late. DJs will be spinning upstairs and downstairs until closing time.
