Last week we got Space Shuttle Discovery, which was set to replace Space Shuttle Enterprise at the Udvar-Hazy Center. But according to NASA, the foul weather has delayed today’s flight up to New York, leaving us with two shuttles for the time being.
As we explained last week, the 747 ferrying the shuttles from destination to destination can handle the weight, but it can’t handle the weather. Any inclement weather can damage the tiles that line the outside of the shuttle, so the 747s only fly when the weather’s good.
