Good morning, Washington. Graupel got you down? Fear not. It’s supposed to be back in the 60s today. But a bit farther out, last night was like the winter we didn’t have. We’ll get to that in a bit.
Grant Land: The District’s Children and Youth Investment Trust Corporation, bilked by former Councilmember Harry Thomas Jr. for $353,000 during his time in office, hasn’t had a thorough review of its finances since 2009, the Examiner reports. A new audit is long overdue, says Ward 1 Councilmember Jim Graham, who oversees the agency. “This is something that is absolutely critical that you have to do,” he said at a hearing yesterday.
Grande Maison de Merde: The Hidden Springs development is already the ritziest parts of the tony village of Great Falls, Va., but apparently it’s not nice enough for one family, which is building a 25,000-square-foot mansion modeled on Versailles, the ornate palace built by King Louis XIV of France. The Post reports that the planned house, which the owners are calling Le Chateau de Lumière, is chaffing Hidden Springs residents like former Gannett chief executive Craig Dubow, who complains that Le Chateau’s owners are cutting down his trees and erecting gaudy billboards about the construction.
Snow Day: It might be getting warm and sunny in D.C again, but out in Western Maryland, people are waking up to as much as nine inches of snow, the National Weather Service projects. The Associated Press reports that a late-season nor’easter tore through the area, causing school closures and some power outages. And all we got here was this graupel.

This Day in DCist: Last year, 7,000 Pepco customers in Prince George’s County were without power. In 2010, Jason Campbell was traded to the Oakland Raiders.
