There’s nothing worse than a Philadelphia sports fan. Nothing. Well, except when they make up the majority of the crowd during hometown Nats games.

The owners of the Washington Nationals continue trying just about everything to ensure that the three-game series in D.C. in early May doesn’t become an opportunity for Phillies fans to crawl out of the woodwork and make Nats Park their temporary home.

As part of the “Take Back the Park” campaign, the team is now offering two free tickets to a number of other games for every purchase of two tickets to one of the games against the Phillies, which are scheduled for May 4, 5 and 6:

Once you select the one May 4-6 game you wish to attend, you will have the opportunity to choose your 2 FREE TICKETS to one of these following games: 6/6 vs. Mets, 6/21 vs. Rays, 7/5 vs. Giants, 7/18 vs. Mets, 8/3 vs. Marlins, 8/30 vs. Cardinals, 9/9 vs. Marlins, 9/22 vs. Brewers.

Additionally, yesterday the Post reported that four areas Lexus dealers are kicking in $40,000 to purchase the best seats in the house for the May 5 matchup.

The Nats’ efforts haven’t gone unnoticed. In February, Sen. Bob Casey (D-Penn.) wrote a letter to MLB Commissioner Bud Selig complaining of a Nats policy giving presale dibs to people with D.C., Maryland or Virginia address. In response, a group of Philly faithfuls organized to occupy Nationals Park.
