>> Michael Davis, the 19-year-old Petworth resident (and brother of 49ers tight end Vernon Davis) accused of attacking a young woman with a hammer late Thursday was charged with a second assault during a preliminary hearing in D.C. Superior Court yesterday, writes the Post. The new charge is related to a second attack on Thursday that was only reported after Davis was captured by police. He has not been charged with three similar attacks that took place in the neighborhood, including one that killed 66-year-old Denver resident Gary Dederichs.

Among the laws is one that requires women to undergo an ultrasound if they seek an abortion; a controversial provision requiring a transvaginal probe was scrapped after national attention was focused on it earlier this spring.
