The Metropolitan Police Department is responding to reports of a suspicious package inside the Saudi Embassy near the Kennedy Center this morning. The property manager of the Watergate building across the street confirms the news, but no one at the embassy was immediately available to comment further. We’ll have more details as soon as possible.

UPDATE, 11:15 a.m.: It looks like the all-clear has been given. The package turned out to be nothing particularly suspicious, and police will be reopening New Hampshire Avenue in front of the embassy soon.
