Curious what certain federal government employees make? Now it’s easy to find out.

WUSA9 reports that a new database was launched today that makes searching for federal government salaries easier than ever. Based on a Freedom of Information Act placed with the Office of Personnel Management by The Asbury Park Press, the database includes 2011 pay information for over 70 percent of federal workers; certain agencies like the Department of Defense, CIA, FBI, and the White House were excluded. You can search by name, agency or title.

This is much the same as LegiStorm, the online database of congressional salaries that was launched a few years ago, much to the chagrin of staffers whose pay was suddenly very public.
