Associate Justice Stephen Breyer.

The say that a conservative is a liberal who has been mugged. If that’s the case, Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyer may soon move to the right of Justice Antonin Scalia.

The Post’s Reliable Source reports that Breyer’s Georgetown home was broken into in early May, only months after he and his family were robbed by a machete-wielding thief while on vacation in the Caribbean:

A housekeeper discovered the break-in May 4. It appears no one was home when it happened, Supreme Court spokeswoman Kathleen Arberg confirmed to our colleague Bob Barnes. Arberg could not say what was stolen but confirmed that no material from the court was missing. D.C. police did not immediately provide information on the incident.

As we wrote after the February incident, Supreme Court justices have been victims of crime before—but Breyer may well be the only to be victimized twice in such a short period of time.
