>> Happy Bike to Work Day! WTOP reports that over 10,000 people will hit the roads today on their bicycles, and the weather couldn’t be better for it. If you’re a driver, be patient on the one day when cyclists become a more noticeable commuting majority. If you’re a cyclist, use the cover of all of your fellow two-wheeled brethren to sow chaos. Run red lights! Cut off cars! Buzz pedestrians! It’s now or never for the rolling revolution! Just kidding. Here’s to everyone behaving themselves.
>> This weekend President Obama will host leaders of the G-8 for a summit at Camp David. We’ve already reported on what residents of nearby Frederick are doing to prepare, but the Post sent a reporter to speak to residents of the closest town to the presidential retreat, Thurmont. They’re about as ready as they can be, and are hosting a small contingent of anti-G-8 protesters. Thurmont’s about as close to Camp David as anyone can get, though—the retreat is closed to the public, nearby state parks have been closed and the restricted air space has been expanded.
>> What’s it like working customs at Dulles Airport? The Washington Times sent a reporter to find out. The conclusion? Travelers are an inventive bunch when it comes to sneaking just about anything into the U.S.: “It’s not uncommon for an officer to find containers full of food, homemade medicines packaged in recycled motor-oil containers, or even a full steering wheel, complete with 3-foot-long drive shaft.”
>> Disgraced former Ward 5 councilmember Harry Thomas, Jr. owes D.C. a lot of money, most of which he probably won’t ever be able to pay back. But his attorneys are trying to keep the government from adding $92,500 to the more than $300,000 he has to pay D.C. back, reports the City Paper. The money is part of a grant he directed to an inaugural ball and from which he took a $7,500 cut; prosecutors have argued that the grant, which was improperly awarded, was part of his largest theft of city funds.

This Day in DCist: On this day in 2011, it looked like D.C. was getting gayer and the CDC prepared for the coming zombie apocalypse. In 2010, a lion cub was born at the National Zoo and local bicycle racers suffered a tacky prank.
