>> “Red Bull Thre3style” has DJ Geometrix, Spinser Tracy, DJ Tech, DJ Trayze, DJ Alizay, KC From The Fatback DJs, Amen Ra and PHLIPZ in a competition where they’ll each have to play at least three genres of music in 15 minutes. The champion will advance to the national championship in Orlando. On hand at the Howard Theatre to perform a set and serve as a celebrity judge will be DJ Haircut, better known as Mayer Hawthorne. >> The Capital Jazz Festival‘s second day features a number of acts including Musiq Soulchild, Stephanie Mills and Steve Arrington, among others, at Merriweather Post Pavilion. $62.50-$165. 12 p.m.
