TUESDAY

Like a lot of people throughout the city, we’re still mourning the loss of the late Chuck Brown. You can pay your respects to the Godfather of Go-Go during the public viewing at The Howard Theatre from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Please note that no photography will be allowed. Free.

The Dandy Warhols—a band known for their rivalry with Brian Jonestown Massacre as much as their breakout single song in the wonderful, but defunct teen drama about teenage sleuth Veronica Mars—will be at the 9:30 Club on the heels of the release of their ninth studio album, This Machine. 7:00 p.m. $25.

>> Wolf Trap: Steve Winwood, Bobby Long. 8:00 p.m. $42 in-house; $25 lawn.

THURSDAY

The four-time Grammy-nominated Zac Brown Band will be bringing their feel-good, Miller Lite-soaked populist anthems to Merriweather Post Pavilion. Blackberry Smoke and Sonia Leigh will open the show. 5:30 p.m doors; 7:00 p.m. show. $42-77.

>> Black Cat Backstage: Ugly Purple Sweater, Typefighter, Plume Giant. 8:00 p.m. $8.

>> The Howard Theatre: Victor Wooten. 8:00 p.m. $30-35.

FRIDAY

Dr. John‘s latest album Locked Down, which was produced by Dan Auerbach, is being touted as a back-to-basics return for the New Orleans legend. Much like Auerbach’s band The Black Keys, John has been on a roll of late. Expect to hear “Right Place Wrong Time” and many other great songs at Birchmere. 7:30 p.m. $35

>> 9:30 Club: Dawes, Sara Watkins. 8:00 p.m. $25

SATURDAY

The New Orleans bounce queen Big Freedia will bring her ass-shaking rhythms to the Rock and Roll Hotel. Edie Sedgwick, Cheyne and The Metaphysical will open the show. 9 p.m. $15. Another note: Freedia will be holding a class on how to bounce dat ass at 7:00 p.m. Sadly, the ticket for the dance class will not grant you admission to the show. $10.

>> Comet Ping Pong: Chain & the Gang, The Coathangers, Coup Savage and the Snips. 10:00 p.m. $12. All ages.

>> The Howard Theatre: Curren$y, The Jets, Smoke DZA, Fiend 4 Da Money, Corner Boy P, Trademark and Young Roddy. 10:30 p.m. $20-25. All ages.

SUNDAY

Thankfully, Radiohead is playing inside for their latest visit to D.C. After suffering torrential downpours during their last appearance in the area (and the 2008 traffic kerfuffle that ensued), people who actually got tickets should have a much better experience this time around. Caribou opens. 7:30 p.m. SOLD OUT / Craigslist.

There’s another sold out show in town that’s worth your time, but it won’t be nearly as impossible to find tickets. The 2011 Pazz & Jop pole sitter Merril Garbus, who performs as tUnE-yArDs, will be at the 9:30 Club behind a fantastic album in w h o k i l l. 7:00 p.m. SOLD OUT / Craigslist.

>> Jiffy Lube Live: Miranda Lambert. 4 p.m. $34-62.
