Former Three Stars interviewees Ugly Purple Sweater hit the Black Cat Backstage tonight to support their 2011 release, Conventions. The band, previously a duo, have upgraded to a rollicking five-piece, further expanding their indie-pop sound. Today’s song of the day, “Ba Ba Ba,” is a highlight from their latest album. The piano driven track, which may or may not be about Rachel Lord and Sam McCormally’s engagement, boasts a sound so bright it is sure to light up the stage tonight.
