  • Quite the storm last night. NBC4’s collection of viewer photos shows flooded streets, lawns littered with broken tree branches and the funnel clouds. If you’ve got photos of the storm, feel free to add them to the DCist Flickr Pool.

  • A Washington ethics consultant won the Hugh Hefner First Amendment Award. According to the Washingtonian, Jesselyn Radack, who appeared on Playboy twice while attending law school, won the award for her work, representing whistleblowers.
  • The National Transportation Safety Board released a report stating that Metro could have done more to prevent the accidents that killed track workers back in 2009 and 2010. According to The Examiner, NTSB didn’t provide recommendations. But Metro is already addressing the issues that caused the accidents, especially in light of a similar incident that occurred last Tuesday.
  • Park officials said construction on the Lincoln Memorial reflecting pool is expected to be done by the first week of August, WTOP reports.
