Things seem to be getting a little testy down at the Wilson Building these days.
After a D.C. Council breakfast this morning, D.C. Council Chair Kwame Brown apparently pushed WTOP reporter Mark Segraves after he asked a question regarding a tweet from WUSA9 reporter Bruce Johnson yesterday saying that federal investigators had sat down with Brown and laid out their case against him for irregularities in his 2008 campaign.
WTOP has details and audio of the scuffle, in which Segraves can be heard telling Brown not to push him:
Brown first walked past the reporters and answered “no questions.” Upon further questioning, he shoved his forearm into Segraves chest and pushed him up against the wall.
According to tweets from the Wilson Building, Brown thereafter winked at Segraves from the dais.
This wouldn’t be the first time that Brown has become, well, animated with local journalists. In January, he reportedly engaged in a yelling match with former WTOP political analyst Mark Plotkin after they both appeared together on Fox 5.
@kwamebrowndc just smiled and winked at me from the podium. Just minutes after pushing me against a wall.

Kwame Brown pushes @SegravesWTOP (not hard, but enough to send a message) as reporters approach with questions.

UPDATE, 4:15 p.m.: It looks like Brown has apologized to Segraves.
@kwamebrowndc apologized to me in private for shoving meHe said the wink was due to a contact lens problem.
