It has been over year since Mogwai released their last (and best titled) album Hardcore Will Never Die, But You Will and it has also been over a year since the band was supposed to be at the 9:30 club to promote said record. Their 4/19/11 date was postponed due to visa issues, and their rescheduled date, 9/29/11, was postponed due to medical issues. Tonight the band will play a fittingly sold-out show at the 9:30 Club so to celebrate the Scottish-rockers return to D.C. today’s song of the day I’m taking it back to 2010 with the first single from Hardcore Will Never Die… “Rano Pano.” The nearly six-minute instrumental is a chugs along, but absolutely crushes everything in its path.
