>> People at the University of Virginia are all riled up about the sudden departure of President Teresa Sullivan, who resigned last weekend after just two years on the job. The Post reports that despite the university board’s confidence in its move to dump Sullivan, faculty in Charlottesville are quite displeased.

>> Councilmember Vincent Orange (D-At Large) is proposing, not for the first time, legislation that would exempt public-school teachers from paying D.C. income tax, WAMU reports. Orange’s wife is employed by D.C. Public Schools, though he says that as a special-education instructor, she might not qualify for the exemption.

>> It’s election day in Virginia (again), and low turnout is expected in several primary races, including for the Republican nomination for an open U.S. Senate seat. George Allen is expected to win that one.

>> Commerce Secretary John Bryson is taking a leave of absence after suffering a seizure last weekend.
